Point 21- Plan 5 sections to your video, to add variety. Create a storyboard for each section.

Shot 1                                                       Shot 2                                        Shot 3

Shot 4                                                                                 Shot 5

In the first shot the boyfriend and his girlfriend show signs of an unstable relationship because they are arguing. The shot is a mid shot.

In the second shot the girlfriend reads her boyfriends phone when he receives a text message from another girl. This is a POV shot.

In the third shot the boyfriend gets very angry  at his girlfriend for reading   his phone.  This will be a series of shot revers shots.

In the forth shot. The boyfriend then sneaks out at night while his girlfriend sleeps. This will be a high angle shot.

In the fifth shot. We then see him meet up with another women... This is the over the shoulder shot.

Point 20- Create a story plan for the video; write a brief synopsis.

Our song is all about keeping secrets from people. Our side storyline within the music video is going to be about a boyfriend keeping secrets from his girlfriend. At the start of the video there will be shots of them arguing and falling out which shows they are not the best of couples. One shot in particular that we are going to use  around the middle of the video is them arguing about a text message that the boyfriend gets from another girl. His girlfriend tries to read the message but she isn't able to read it and the boyfriend storms off in anger that she doesn't trust him. The final shot of the video is the boyfriend sneaking out and going to see this "other girl" and they run off into the sunset holding hands and showing the audience that the boyfriend is cheating on his girlfriend. What he doesn't know is that his girlfriend knew he snuck out and followed him. We will show this by zooming out of the boyfriend with his new found lover running away until the actual girlfriend who is standing at a distance watching them run off comes into the shot. The lead singer of the band will be the boyfriend from the side story because this is very common in pop punk music videos. Therefore lip and band sync will be crucial.

Point 19- Define the key elements you must include in your video to conform to the expectations of the genre you have chosen, the audience you have chosen and what is expected of a video. Also any theorists that might apply to your video.

Here are some key elements and techniques that I am going to use in my final video
  • Performance of Song
  • Narrative
  • Lip Syncing
  • Close up of singer's face
  • Slow motion/ real time effect
  • Lens flare
  • Enigma
  • Editing to the beat
  • Name of artist at start
  • Visuals reflect lyrics
Pop punk is a low culture genre. Baudrillard's theory of hyperreality could be argued to be a theory of low culture which is appropriate to my music video. It is appropriate because hyperreality is a copy within a copy and how we as humans deem things real or not. Pop Punk is a copy of pop music and punk music merged into one genre which is now seen as a "real genre."
